For an even, seamless look, flagstone is a common material to use for patios. Because of the various stones available, there are more ways to customize a flagstone patio than meets the eye. Examples of flagstone material are slate, bluestone, redstone, sandstone, and limestone. Another consideration, is a patio’s pattern. Some prefer to emphasize clean, long lines. Others prefer the whimsy of an irregular or less stand pattern. Most of the projects here have traditional, rectangular-cut flagstones. However, flagstone can be cut to a client’s specification.
Some of the most unique patio projects are paver patios. Choosing pavers, clients have great options and control of the style, design and stone material. One timeless option is Belgium block. While brick has been less popular, brick is currently making a comeback. Some of our favorite projects include a mix of pavers and traditional flagstone. Instead of being uniform in material, a contrast threading can be a beautiful option.
